Guidelines for Benevolence

  1. Eligibility Criteria:
    • Assistance is typically available for active members of Disciple Central Community Church.
    • Financial hardship must be documented and demonstrated.
  2. Assistance Limits:
    • The amount of assistance provided will be determined based on the specific need and available church resources.
    • There may be limits on the amount of assistance given to an individual or family within a specified timeframe.
  3. Decision Process:
    • The Benevolence Committee at Disciple Central Community Church will review each request.
    • Decisions will be made based on the applicant's financial need, the availability of funds, and alignment with the church's mission to provide assistance.
  4. Disbursement:
    • If approved, the church will typically disburse assistance directly to the landlord or mortgage company on behalf of the applicant.
    • The church may also provide vouchers for groceries or utilities when appropriate.
  5. Confidentiality: 
    • All information provided on this form and during the application process will be kept confidential and shared only with those directly involved in the decision-making process.
  6. Review for Consecutive Assistance:
    • Applicants who have received assistance may not be eligible for additional assistance in consecutive years unless there are exceptional circumstances.
    • Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  7. Communication:
    • Applicants will be notified of the approval or denial of their request within a reasonable timeframe.
    • If denied, applicants will be informed of the reason for the decision and may seek further clarification if needed.
  8. Record Keeping:
    • Disciple Central Community Church will maintain records of all benevolence requests, approvals, and disbursements for transparency and accountability purposes.

You may be contacted to send additional documents such as pay stubs, lease/mortgage agreements, utility bills, and any other relevant financial documents.
